I have spent 40 years in residential conveyancing, having started in the late 1970s as a secretary in a small Law Firm and progressing quickly to a fee earner specialising in Residential Conveyancing, acting as team leader for a Torquay firm for several years, and also Head of Residential Conveyancing for a Totnes law firm . My locum work commenced in 2005 and whilst I have undertaken some permanent employment during the intervening years, locum work does suit me best.
Whether it is leasehold, freehold, shared ownership, a house, a flat, a bungalow, etc., I have dealt with most property based transactions, including equity release, matrimonial transfers, new builds .......
I have excellent keyboard skills (a typing speed of around 100 wpm) and a good knowledge of the major case management systems, Word, Excel and Outlook. I have had training in accounting and ledgers. I can work alone, with a secretary/assistant, or as part of a team - whatever you need I will adapt to.
I've worked with the large firms, including major international firms, sole practitioners, mixed partnerships, a variety of different law firms over my years as a locum.
Buyers and Sellers need to be assured that despite their conveyancer being away from the office for whatever reason, their matter is being looked after and progressed in an efficient and effective manner. That is where I come in. With a warm, calm and approachable manner, I endeavour to keep everyone updated as much as possible, and to make progress as quickly as the chain allows.
I strive to offer the best I can for the firms I work for and this is reflected in the feedback from both clients and firms, with many happy buyers and sellers expressing appreciation.
